Organizational Development is the process of aligning individual goals with organizational goals.  This can be achieved at the individual, team, department, and business unit levels, or working with the entire organization, as one system.

Organizational Development can focus on a large-scale, unit-wide organization effectiveness initiatives that include activities such as organizational diagnosis, developing and implementing appropriate intervention programs and processes that addresses organization structure, culture and operations, with the sole purpose of making the organization more effective, profitable and a better environment in which to work.

Major activities includes assessing, designing, implementing and evaluating organizational states, employee climate surveys, change management, process improvement, effective operational programs, work redesign, and team building.

In addition, another Organizational Development role is to assist at the micro level, in such areas as recruiting, developing, motivating, and retaining all levels of employees. Major activities at the employee level include employee assessment, engagement, retention, motivation & development.

As an organizational development consultant, Dr. Earl is process consultant, meaning he helps an organization to assess, define and recreate a process that works for that particular organization, based on their own vision, mission, goals and culture.  Once the process is developed, then the organization can recreate that process for continued and consistent success throughout the entire organization.  Therefore, all engagements are unique to that organization.
